Gao Huo’s passion, Shaowu rally training

There is a group of people who are resolute, strong-willed, and unwavering; they harbor dreams and hold fast to their convictions. This group has given itself a name: the “Ge’s Team.”
Over the past decade, East China University of Science and Technology has progressed from “Gore 5” to this year’s “Gore 14,” with their ultimate challenge taking them into the vast Gobi Desert. They’ve chosen running—the simplest of human pursuits—to trek across the desert, pushing themselves to their limits. As for this kind of “madness,” it’s entirely foreign to me; I’m a complete novice. This age-old practice of testing one’s physical endurance in extreme conditions is humanity’s most profound testament to adapting to and surviving in the face of nature.

During the three-day training, as a logistics support staff member, I successfully infiltrated “Go14” as an undercover operative, gaining valuable insights and walking away with a wealth of experience.

Over three days of training, the “Go 14” team was finally solidified: the “veteran Gos” guided the new members, passing on the core principles of the “Go Team” and the spirit of “Go Culture” to the “new Gos.” This transmission is the simplest, most direct, and most effective way. Through the veteran Gos’ words, actions, and encouragement, the new Gos have been revitalized from within—strengthening their bodies and embracing the Go spirit.

This training session in Wuyishan was held in Shaowu City, Fujian Province, with a total mileage of 90 kilometers spread over three days. The first and second days each covered 35 kilometers, while the third day was 20 kilometers. Participants included students from the School of Business at East China University of Science and Technology, emlyon business school, and Quanwai Business School.

This training session also designated Shaowu City as the “Ge Zhi Team’s” first training base and appointed Fujian Liangjingjing New Materials Co., Ltd. as its coordinating partner. From now on, the “Ge Zhi Team” will no longer be alone—this marks a new milestone for the team and the beginning of a fresh journey.
