Kernel Engineer

Job Description:

1. Maintenance and upgrade of the Linux kernel for Kuaishou’s internal servers;

2. Perform performance tuning on the Linux kernel based on the characteristics of the service;

3. Research and application of new kernel technologies;

4. Research and improvement of container-related technologies.

Job Requirements:

1. Proficient in the Linux kernel; have read the source code of at least one of the kernel’s major subsystems: memory management, the I/O subsystem, or the network subsystem.

2. Proficient in C programming on the Linux platform, with strong expertise in multi-process and multi-thread programming, as well as socket programming.

3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for tackling challenging problems;

4. Priority will be given to candidates who have contributed patches to open-source kernel communities.

5. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset, coupled with a meticulous work ethic and a commitment to high-quality deliverables;

6. Eager to learn new knowledge, strong hands-on skills, and a proactive attitude.
